Barcelona go official to deny Rabiot claims

Barcelona issued a statement today saying they had made contact with PSG's management "last August and then a week ago" to express their interest in Rabiot, but had not spoken to the player.

We are at the end of 2018, and it seems like Barcelona could be adding a few big-name players in the January transfer window, which will open tomorrow, 1st January, 2019.

The 23-year-old has been linked with Premier League sides Arsenal and Liverpool, but reports have emerged suggesting he has an agreement in place with Spanish champions Barcelona.

Barcelona have denied reaching an agreement to sign Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot and dismissed allegations of impropriety in their transfer dealings.

A statement read: 'FC Barcelona wish to address stories published in France regarding the signing of players from Paris Saint Germain, and make clear that they have not breached any rule in this regard.

Barca have moved to head off speculation arriving from France.

In both cases, contacts were made with PSG's sporting officials to show the interest of FC Barcelona in the player Adrien Rabiot.

Rabiot will probably be left at home when the PSG squad travels to Qatar in mid-January for the club's Winter Tour.

His agent Veronique Rabiot, who is also his mother, said the following day that the situation between the French champions and her son had completely deteriorated.

Rabiot graduated from the PSG academy and, having made his senior debut for the Parisians in 2012, has appeared over 200 times for the Ligue 1 club, winning the French title four times.
