Cops grieve Krispy Kreme Doughnuts lost in NYE truck fire: 'No words'

It all started with a fun tweet from the Lexington Police Department about a Krispy Kreme truck that caught fire.

The Lexington Police Department tweeted photos of their officers with saddened but sarcastic looks on their faces as they stood beside the torched doughnut truck.

WLEX reported that the driver of the truck noticed smoke coming from the back and pulled over and safely escaped.

The truck driver was uninjured and the fire was quickly extinguished, but the ideal pastries were lost in the blaze, much to the despair of the passers-by and the police officers who reported to the scene.

"No words, " the department captioned the post.

Police forces and sympathisers around the United States were quick to offer condolences to their fellow officers in Lexington. "We donut know what else to say", the post read.
