Melania Trump wears skintight flesh-colored leggings and Twitter is really confused

From inside a dun-colored, domed tent on Al Asad Air Base in western Iraq, President Donald Trump answered reporter's questions on Wednesday in front of senior US military officials, outlining his strategy in the region.

To begin with, Trump did not meet with a single Iraqi official, including Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi.

The president and his entourage then headed back to the United States.

The contrast between the two trips is sometimes stark - not just because of the timing, but also because of the very different tone they put on display. Trump's visit was the first by a US president since Barack Obama met with then-Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki at a USA base outside Baghdad in 2009. George W. Bush made four trips to Iraq as president and President Barack Obama made one. He would go on to visit another conflict zone, Afghanistan, twice in his second year in office.

Donald Trump visits US troops in Iraq for first trip to a conflict zone

US troops are stationed in Iraq as part of the coalition against the Islamic State group.

Trump's trip came at a moment of tension with some of his top military officials. "Pitch black. I have never seen anything like it". By speaking at Al-Asad in western Iraq he sought to reach out directly to the American military.

A scheduled meeting between Trump and Iraqi Prime Minister Adil Abdul-Mahdi was scrapped and they only talked over phone.

"Parliament must clearly and urgently express its view about the ongoing American violations of Iraqi sovereignty", said MP Salam al-Shimiri, loyal to the populist cleric Moqtada al-Sadr.

The POTUS made it clear that he doesn't want his country to remain "the policeman of the world" and described the US' worldwide military presence as "ridiculous".

According to Trump, the flight into Iraq was unlike anything he had previously experienced. But speculation had been mounting that he would finally make the gesture following his controversial plan to slash troop levels in Afghanistan and his order to withdraw entirely from Syria. "They've been in Iraq 16 years, and they haven't given anything to the country except destruction and devastation".

People are calling Melania Trump out for wearing sunglasses at night, and seemingly no trousers.

Iraqi leaders declared an end to combat operations against IS a year ago but the country's political, military and economic situation remains uncertain. He also warned Trump not to follow up with withdrawing from Iraq.

Fifteen years after the 2003 invasion, the U.S. still has more than 5000 troops in Iraq supporting the government as it continues the fight against remaining pockets of resistance by the Islamic State group. He said Ain al-Asad could be used for USA air strikes inside Syria following his announcement last week to withdraw US troops from there. Such a move would reflect one of the strategies proposed by the Pentagon after he announced his decision to withdraw troops from that country. "Our boys, our young women, our men, they're all coming back and they're coming back now. If I will say this, if you take ISIS and if we see something happening with ISIS that we don't like, we can hit them so fast and so hard, they won't, they really won't know what the hell happened", he said.

Pundits who bemoaned President Donald Trump wasn't visiting troops overseas on Christmas lamented when he did so, accusing him of revealing identities of Navy SEALs in Iraq.

Troops are not supposed to be involved in political activities because the military is not a political force, CNN reports.
