The hunt is on for Black Friday savings

Amazon has fired the starting gun on Black Friday, the United States tradition that has become a near-fortnight long £10bn shopping extravaganza in the UK.

Ladies and gentlemen, the moment you've been waiting for has finally arrived: Amazon's huge Black Friday 2018 sale has begun! But the promotions planned between now and Christmas will be key to the fortunes of retail chains that make the bulk of their profits at this time of year.

"Most of these offers are going to be both online and in store, and probably start before Black Friday itself", Jill Gonzalez, WalletHub analyst, told KTAR News 92.3 FM on Friday.

The sale includes Argos's lowest ever prices on selected electricals and buy one get one free on jewellery. Some of those are daily deals, lasting only 24 hours, and some will run until 25th November, when Amazon's Black Friday event ends.

"We focus on making shopping as easy and enjoyable for the customer as possible so we hope customers will enjoy the new AR View feature in the app, which uses augmented reality technology to allow shoppers to see selected products in their own home before they decide to buy, just in time for this year's biggest ever Black Friday sale and flawless for kitting out the home before Christmas guests start arriving". All you need to get your hands on the best deals from major retailers is quick fingers, most importantly, knowledge about when exactly the sales will drop, so that you're the first one on the site. "Anything at or above that is a real Black Friday bargain", Gonzalez said.
