East TN Powerball player wins $2 million, jackpot rises to $620 million

While they didn't win the grand prize, they were fortunate enough to walk home with $1 million.

With the potential Powerball jackpot now climbing to around $620 million and the Mega Millions jackpot at around $1.6 billion (the largest jackpot in USA history), the lottery money up for grabs next week could top $2 billion.

No grand prize victor was drawn Saturday and the jackpot is now $620 million.

The winning numbers are 15, 23, 53, 65, 70 and the mega ball is 7.

The next drawing, which is scheduled for Tuesday (10/23) at 11pm, will have an estimated jackpot of $1.6 billion.

The new prize for Wednesday's drawing will be the third-largest total in the game's history.

That's right. Mega Millions "entered historic territory" Saturday after officials confirmed there were no winners for Friday's drawing.

The game, which was created in 2002, has seen changes over the years that have reduced the chances of winning, meaning bigger and bigger jackpots.

Estaban ended up plunking down $10 apiece on Mega Millions and Powerball tickets at Carlton Cards in Penn Station, which sells an average of $246,000 in tickets a week, the most in NY state, according to data obtained by USA Today.

The next Mega Millions drawing is at 11 p.m. EST Tuesday.

The base prize for matching the five white numbers drawn is $1 million. That jackpot was won in January 2016. Players have to match five numbers for the million dollar prize.
