Trump Denounces Globalism In U.N. Speech

He said that the U.S. has launched an economic campaign against Iran, calling on other countries to help the United States and allies to isolate Iran.

More laughs, and now some rounds of applause, before Trump eventually moves on with the rest of his speech.

"It is ironic that the U.S. government does not even hide its plan for overthrowing the same government it invites to talks", Rouhani said in a speech at the United Nations General Assembly.

One of his key themes, however, was the right of America to pursue its own path in the world.

A small grin appeared on his face, and he said: 'I didn't expect that reaction but it's OK'. In the middle of a "speech" that was essentially Trump repeating talking points about how "successful" his administration has been, someone interrupted. They do not respect their neighbours or borders, or the sovereign rights of nations.

Tensions with North Korea have eased since last year's General Assembly, when Trump called Kim Jong Un "rocket man," and threatened to "totally destroy" the country if it threatened the USA or its allies.

Trump also thanked the global community for its support in the denuclearization campaign, singling out South Korean President Moon Jae-in, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and Chinese President Xi Jinping.

In a stark turn from his usual agenda, Trump ended his speech by applauding the UN for its diversity, calling it a "beautiful constellation of nations", The Guardian reports.

Trump said America's economy is booming like never before and since his election, the U.S. has added Dollars 10 trillion in wealth.

"No worse reaction he can think of than being laughed at", tweeted Maggie Haberman, the New York Times reporter who has covered Trump for decades.

Let my message today be clear: "We are watching, and we will come after you", Mr Bolton told an anti-Iran conference during the UN General Assembly in NY.

"In other words, the United States is stronger, safer, and a richer country than it was when I assumed office two years ago".
