Bills GM says no guarantees for newly-acquired Corey Coleman

The Cleveland Browns have already given up on one of their former first-round picks. The Browns originally had the No. 2 pick in the 2016 draft, but they traded it to Philadelphia, which took Carson Wentz and now is a Super Bowl champion.

He has played in just 19 of a possible 32 games in his career. He later tried to walk that back by saying he was "not a professional wordsmith", but his personnel moves of late seem to suggest that he still believes it. Dorsey has now traded six players since he took over: Coleman, quarterbacks DeShone Kizer, Cody Kessler and Kevin Hogan, defensive tackle Danny Shelton and cornerback Jason McCourty.

Cleveland selected Coleman out of Baylor with the 15th pick in the 2016 draft.

Brandon Beane confirmed that the Bills gave up a seventh round pick in 2020 to get the wide receiver.

"We'll tell him how we do things here, what the expectations are". It'd be totally fine if the Browns truly felt that Corey Coleman wasn't going to develop into the star wideout.

Buffalo entered training camp with Kelvin Benjamin as its top receiver and questions down the rest of its depth chart. Overall, Coleman has 56 catches for 718 yards and five touchdowns in his brief career. They also picked up some cold, hard cash.

Returning starter Zay Jones is coming off right knee and shoulder surgery and was cleared for practice for the first time Sunday. "Its low risk and we'll see what happens".

The Bills are in the midst of overhauling their offence under new co-ordinator Brian Daboll and a new starting quarterback after Buffalo traded Tyrod Taylor to Cleveland in March.
