Trump claims you need ID to buy groceries. You do not

President Donald Trump claimed shoppers need to show a photo ID to buy groceries.

The president was railing against the idea of noncitizens voting in elections when he claimed that identification is required for everything but voting. He was trying to tell supporters that tighter laws would stop people who aren't USA citizens from voting, and in his argument added that people need IDs for most other things.

During a rally in Tampa, Florida, Trump said that if "you want to buy anything, you need ID and you need your picture", but this isn't true for buying standard groceries. If he has, he'd know that unless you're paying with a credit card or buying alcohol, you won't be asked for ID on your weekly grocery run.

The President will be in town to tout technical education as well as back Florida Republican politics ahead of the upcoming mid-term elections.

Trump also criticized Democrats who oppose his nominee for the Supreme Court, Brett Kavanaugh, and said voters need to elect more Republicans. Scott is challenging Democratic U.S. Sen.

"I love Florida", Trump said at Tampa Bay Tech. "It's up to the politicians at the local level to decide whether they want to tether themselves to that or not", he said.

Florida represented a crucial triumph for Trump in the 2016 presidential election and the president has maintained a steady presence in the state, returning frequently to his winter home in Palm Beach.

Trump praised DeSantis as "a tough, brilliant cookie" and predicted a win in his race against Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam in the state's August 28 Republican primary. But officials say Trump has reassured staff in private that he will not provoke a fiscal crisis before the November election, when the GOP hopes to retain its majority.

He said Tuesday: "After a while, you forget who's the senator". "They will do anything they can to not help the Trump agenda". He has come under some criticism for using his young children, but on Fox News he said such comments just show people have "no sense of humor" - a line that will surely further please a base that rails against political correctness.

The misleading remark about grocery shopping led essentially every human who has ever been to a supermarket to think that Trump, like the woefully uninformed Lucille Bluth, has never purchased food from a store in his life. "'Cause the Democrats, the Democrats are not voting for what we want to do, and they're not voting and allowing our values to take place in our country".
