Terror attack: Palestinian stabs 3 Israelis in Samaria

Israel's defence minister says the best way to stop more attacks on Israeli citizens in the occupied West Bank is to expand its settlements.

Israeli army spokesman Jonathan Conricus said that around 8.50PM local time the assailant jumped over the fence that surrounded the settlement and stabbed two passers-by. A 58-year-old who has since stabilized is now listed in "fair" condition.

The attacker was identified by Palestinian media as Mohammed Dar Youssef, 17, from the village of Kobar.

On July 21, in one of the most intense bouts of fighting since a 2014 war, Israel and Hamas exchanged fire that killed four Palestinians - three of them Hamas militants - and one Israeli soldier. Under worldwide law, all Israeli settlement activities in the occupied territories are illegal.
