Kicked Out Of Toys R Us On Its Last Day?

This isn't the first time the toy shop has seen a random act of kindness; in December past year, two anonymous "secret Santas" went in and paid off $10,000 (£7,570) in layaway toys. Promise us just this one thing: Don't ever grow up. For more than 60 years, American children grew up as "Toys "R" Us kids", but the company filed for bankruptcy last year.

The company had $5 billion in debt after a leveraged buyout that left it unable to invest.

By the 80s and early 90s, Toys R Us dominated the toy-store business and its jingle, "I'm a Toys R Us kid" became an anthem for children across the country.

The image captures the end of an era and sadness many people feel watching their favorite toy store close forever.

The company's stores closed their doors for the final time on Friday, after the toy store chain announced in March it would be closing down.

Meanwhile, five former Toys R Us executives, including former CEO David Brandon, shared $8.2 million in retention bonuses. Retailers like Walmart and Target are expanding their toy aisles to fill the hole, while Party City is opening 50 pop-up toy shops this fall.

In the photograph posted online by Facebook user Rene Johnpiere, who appears to have been an employee at the toy store, Geoffrey is seen wearing a beach shirt, with a hat and sunglasses perched on his head and his right hand on a trolley luggage.

Many long-time employees were hoping to retire at a place they called home.

Jacob Rabon IV tweeted two of the photos with the caption: 'I can't believe childhood is cancelled'.
