OPPO Find X Price Turns Out To Be Around RM 4600

Smartphone buyers want full-screen phones but they don't like notches, and so the Oppo Find X takes a different route.

It features a whopping 25-megapixel front-facing camera and a dual 16-megapixel and 20-megapixel rear camera. We went from candybar phones to clamshells, to sliders, back to the candybar (with every smartphone following that framework), and then in the pursuit to have bezel-less displays, phones are revising the slider format to hide elements like the front-facing camera. OPPO says the Find X Automobili Lamorghini Edition will cost €1,699, though no dates have been given for launch. This slide out module houses a 25MP camera and 3D facial recognition sensors up front.

Oppo is not a well-known name in Europe and North America, so it's surprising it would come out of the gate with such an expensive phone.

There's no fingerprint scanner on the Oppo Find X though, but you do get the firm's O-Face technology. Oppo uses the 3D Structured Light Technology to map out the nose, eyes, and other facial features, and "personalize your selfie" as a result. It's similar to what Vivo has done with its Nex phone but in Oppo's case, it's not just a tiny pop-up module for housing just the front camera.

OPPO also showcased another variant of the Find X at its gathering at the Louvre. Better yet, the Find-X will reportedly be the first Oppo phone to officially hit American shores.

Inside the Vivo Nex you'll also find the top of the range Snapdragon 845, 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

Because of this design with serious lack of bezel, Find X sports a 92.25% screen-to-body ratio. A stylish and premium Lamborghini edition of the smartphone will also be released but it is going to be more expensive than the regular version as it will cost 1,699 Euros, or $1967 United States dollars. It's worth noting that the Find X ditches the 3.5mm headphone jack for the USB Type-C.

The OPPO Find X will be available in Bordeaux Red and Glacier Blue color options.

OPPO says it takes around half a second for the camera tray to emerge and having had a chance to have a play around with the handset at its unveiling at the Louvre in Paris, I'd say that's pretty accurate. The special edition comes with engraved logo and offers 512GB of RAM and Super VOOC fast charging. To recall, Oppo was also the company that introduced Oppo N3 with a rotating camera.

Atop Android 8.1 Oreo, Oppo has loaded the latest version of its custom interface, ColorOS 5.1. It is bundled with 3D sensors that support FaceUnlock just like the iPhone X. Both cameras are also supported with AI features. However, Oppo claims that they have tested the slider for 3,00,000 uses, which they claim will last for five years. It comes with VOOC fast charging.
