Aide who dismissed McCain could resurface in administration

Former White House press aide Kelly Sadler quit after making what some perceived to be insulting comments towards Sen.

It reportedly elicited a response from Meghan McCain, the senator's daughter and co-host of ABC's "The View", who previously demanded Sadler give a public apology.

McCain, 81, was diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer past year.

And Trump has also blamed McCain for the failure a year ago to repeal the Affordable Care Act after the Arizona senator returned to cast the decisive vote that defeated a GOP alternative health care bill.

"Look, I can tell you there are a couple of bad actors", Sanders said, then focused on leaking as "some of the most shameful behavior that you could ever engage in".

The White House has not confirmed or denied whether Ms Sadler made the remark. But she remained on staff for about a month.

"Kelly Sadler is no longer employed within the Executive Office of the President", Shah, the principal deputy press secretary, said in a statement yesterday.

McCain's wife, Cindy, tweeted to Sadler saying, "May I remind you my husband has a family, 7 children and 5 grandchildren". "I did not receive that".

Trump gathered a small group of communications staffers in the Oval Office, including Sadler, and reportedly asked her who she thought was leaking to journalists.

It's unclear whether Sadler's departure is connected to the remark, the white house has yet to comment.

But afterward, Meghan cCain publicly questioned why Sadler still had a job at the White House.

The White House has been plotting an exit for Sadler for weeks, sources told CNN.

"It's an honor and privilege to work for the president and to be part of his administration".

But people who don't trust their coworkers and think they're about to be fired rarely leak, so the White House should be good.
