MacOS 10.14 Mojave offers a 'sneak peek' at iOS apps on Mac

That should make it far less time-consuming to bring iOS apps to the Mac App Store - which Apple just completely redesigned, by the way. As for developers who are part of the Apple Developer Program, a preview is available beginning 6 June while a public beta program will be available to Mac users in late June.

The new Stacks feature organizes messy desktops by automatically stacking files into neat groups. Desktop stacks will act similarly, with files expanding out when the stack is clicked, albeit for groups of files on the desktop instead of in the dock.

Now Mac users can toggle between two color schemes for their desktop displays.

Mac apps like Mail, Messages, Maps, Calendar and Photos have a Dark Mode design. Third-party apps may need to be updated to support Dark Mode, but it should be easy developers to do this in a time-efficient manner. Here in, the system changes the desktop picture to match the duration of a day.

To keep the desktop clean, Apple has introduced Stacks that automatically sorts files in a folder based on their file type.

Apple News is also coming to macOS. The next macOS will be called macOS Mojave. Now, the users can scroll through files visually with an all-new Gallery View.

The video previews, meanwhile, are exactly what they sound like: videos that give you a better look at an app than screenshots. Finally, there's Voice Memos, allowing users to take voice notes, lectures, meeting, songs, and access them from an iPhone, iPad, or Mac. For example, the Home app should make it convenient to monitor your smart devices, such as baby monitors and cameras right from the Mac.

Another major change this year is the cross-platform framework that will allow developers to easily offer their apps across both iOS and macOS.

macOS Mojave comes with a bunch of new apps, some of which are direct ports from iOS.

MacOS will be getting new apps including News, stocks, voice memos and Home.

To more cheers from developers, Apple also announced a redesigned Mac App Store for the Mojave update, expanding a new look the company introduced to iPhones and iPads past year.

The Mac App Store will get a visual refresh with the upcoming macOS Mojave update. macOS 10.14 will bring in a new design for the store similar to update we received previously for the App Store in iOS 11.

The update also brings an all new file system and option for a new windowing service.

Redesigned Mac App Store with focus on curation, along with dedicated tabs for Discover, Create, Work, Play, and Develop.

The Mac App Store is a ghost town of limited selection and Apple customers have long complained that some Mac apps get short shrift. On a positive note, it should be largely automated, but less positively, Apple's still saying no to touchscreen Macs.
