Roseanne Barr Blames Ambien For Sparking Racist Twitter Controversy

Sara Gilbert, who played Roseanne's daughter, Darlene Conner, on the show, revealed that she was very sad and disappointed about the situation and wanted fans to know that Barr's tweet does not reflect the opinions of the rest of the cast. "I think we have to turn it into a teaching moment", she said.

"Roseanne's Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have chose to cancel her show", ABC Entertainment President Channing Dungey said. Barr tweeted: "muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby=vj".

"I apologize to Valerie Jarrett and to all Americans", Barr wrote Tuesday via Twitter. "I BLAME MYSELF OK? it's just an explanation not an excuse".

Roseanne's announcement that she'd be leaving Twitter behind turned out to be untrue. "I made a mistake I wish I hadn't".

ABC cancelled Roseanne Barr's sitcom, "Roseanne", on Tuesday after Barr tweeted a racist comment that compared former Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett to an ape. On Monday, Barr regurgitated a rumor that Clinton had married a nephew of Soros - a rumor that was popularized by actor and Trump supporter Scott Baio shortly before the 2016 presidential election.

While Barr received a congratulatory call from Trump after the heated exchange, even then, fellow comedians were left with mixed feelings.

Barr showed no signs of abandoning Twitter, engaging in a series of tweets that apologized to those who lost their jobs because of the "Roseanne" cancellation and expressed remorse she was being branded a racist.

Valerie Jarrett did not seek the spotlight when she served as a senior adviser to former USA president Barack Obama, but has found herself at the centre of a media storm in recent days.
