National Basketball Association playoffs wrap: May 25

Following a 24-point performance in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals, the Celtics are one game away from punching their ticket to the NBA Finals.

"It's my first year".

If it's that easy, the Celtics should begin Game 6 with Marcus Smart and Marcus Morris out of action as a way to trick Lue into sitting LeBron off the jump.

As with most Cavaliers wins, LeBron James was the star of the show, scoring 44 points on 17-of-29 shooting, but of the "Other Cavaliers" to contribute to the win, veteran Kyle Korver came up huge for the home team. "And he does a lot for his team - scores, assists, rebounds".

CLEVELAND - No one cancels trophy presentations like the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Leading the LeBron James haters to salivate as they begin the process of unsheathing, and sharpening, their blades.

James also passed Karl Malone (2,062) for sixth place all-time in playoff rebounds on Friday. J.R. Smith sank a floater to make it 63-50, and George Hill followed with a jumper of his own.

Kyle Korver was a standout for the Cleveland Cavaliers in their fourth National Basketball Association playoff game against the Boston Celtics, helping the team to a 111-102 victory to tie the series up 2-2. He's averaging 33 points, eight rebounds and eight assists per game in the playoffs. "His talent, his composure, where he comes from has allowed him to be successful so he's a very, very, very good player already and he definitely at this pace can become a great player".

And James appeared reluctant to even attempt to dominate in the paint, opting to initiate most of his offense from the perimeter.

The Celtics were still within seven in the final three minutes before James made consecutive 3-pointers, punctuating the second by pounding his chest with both fists and screaming along with 20,562 others.

"I think then all of the rest of the world is relative, right?"

Not everybody spends a million and a half dollars a year to keep his body in shape. This was the seventh 40-point game for James this postseason.

Irving did not travel to Cleveland for Games 3 and 4. Tatum had 13 points, and Horford had 10 points and seven boards at the break. His second stint with the Cavs could end this summer if he opts out of his $35.6 million contract for next season and leaves again as a free agent, a decision he can delay again with a win.

"I think everybody at this point is exhausted or worn down or whatever the case may be", James said.

Regardless of outcome, Sunday night will stand as another significant chapter in the history of LeBron James, one which has become simultaneous with that of the sport at large. "We've just played really bad in Boston, and they probably feel the same way with how they played in Cleveland". He got little help from his teammates, who combined to shoot 38.5 percent from the field and 28.6 percent from three-point range.

"I felt Rozier just race past me", Korver said of the mad dash that ensued after a third-quarter jump ball.

The "trusted" players on this Cavaliers team are older. It's tough to bet against the best player in the world when you tell him it's do or die, as he can put it all on his shoulders and will himself to victory. Wednesday's outing was his 98th game of the season, two shy of his career high of playing 100 games in the 2010-11 season, which included six games in the NBA Finals.
