At one point, the sell-off wiped $50 billion off the company's market value. Last week it said it was "no Bond villain" and had been vilified by inaccurate reporting, including footage of Nix boasting of the company's dirty tricks - including honey traps and fake news - to win elections.

Cambridge Analytica have been successfully controlling the minds of thousands of people - if not hundreds of thousands - since 2013.

Cambridge Analytica sought information on Facebook to build psychological profiles on a large portion of the U.S. electorate, and was hired by President Donald Trump's 2016 United States election campaign. That probe, which involves as many as 30 other companies, goes on. "I will continue my investigation into Facebook's policies to make sure that we are adequately protected in the future".

"Despite Cambridge Analytica's unwavering confidence that its employees have acted ethically and lawfully, which view is now fully supported by [the official's] report, the siege of media coverage has driven away virtually all of the Company's customers and suppliers", the statement read.

Investigators in the UK, US, and other countries are still trying to figure out where facebook data was used, including in the 2016 election, and without a review of SCL/CA's computers, hard drives, databases, documents, etc, it's not yet clear what they actually did historically.
At SCL's Washington, DC office, a man declined to answer questions from a Reuters reporter.

On Tuesday, Mr Collins repeated a request for Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg to appear before the committee, saying evidence provided by Facebook chief technology officer Mike Schroepfer last week "failed to answer fully" nearly 40 questions.
