Call of Duty Battle Royale Rumored for Black Ops IIII

"We look forward to revealing Black Ops 4 on May 17th". This year it appears that the campaign would be replaced by a battle royale mode. Eurogamer has chimed in, reporting that Raven is working on a Battle Royale mode for Black Ops 4, which shouldn't surprise us at all. In the meantime, considering this major change in creative direction, what are your thoughts on the next Call of Duty? Their first game in the series was Call of Duty: World at War in 2008 and they started the Black Ops series in 2010.

Following a March 2017 launch, PUBG became the most popular game on central PC gaming service Steam, and has remained at the top of its bestsellers list ever since. They claim that they've heard from a source as well, and that source is saying that a Battle Royale Mode is coming to Call of Duty: Black IIII. Ideally then, you could form a dedicated Call of Duty content team and just support the game with a decent monetisation plan while also freeing up other studios to go onto new projects to finally expand Activision's relatively small stable.

Call of Duty is unlikely to follow the same approach of having a single base game supported by a wealth of updates and loot boxes without releasing a new game a year later.

It certainly sounds like Call of Duty in 2018 will be different, with earlier reports suggesting that a new Remastered game is also being launched. When developer Infinity Ward first introduced the franchise back in 2003, it gained a reputation for delivering great single-player experiences.

According to the report by Polygon, anonymous sources told the outlet that Black Ops 4 will not have a single player campaign, which would be the first time a Call of Duty has shipped without one in its history. Although they never said whether it'd be an addition to an existing game or something brand new. Either way, we'll find out the truth soon enough: The Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 full reveal is set for May 17. The consensus among TechSpotters is that Activision and Treyarch are shooting themselves in the foot by ignoring the fans of solo story arcs.
