Unhinged and Uncensored, Trump Lets Loose at Pennsylvania Rally

And while the president offered warm words for Saccone in his speech, behind closed doors he has trashed as a "weak" candidate, according to a new report in Axios. GOP and conservative groups are shoveling in dollars to overcome Saccone's lackluster fundraising - this despite his claim that he "was Trump before Trump was Trump".

Saccone, a Pennsylvania state representative, will face former federal prosecutor Conor Lamb, the Democratic nominee, in a special election March 13 to replace former Rep. Tim Murphy, a Republican, who resigned in October because of a sex scandal.

Donald Trump Jr.is in southwestern Pennsylvania trying to boost the Republican candidate to victory in Tuesday's special election for a U.S. House seat.

But while he endorsed Mr Saccone as a "really good person", Mr Trump spent a lot of time talking about his own fortunes in a Make America Great Again rally in an airport hangar at the Pittsburgh International Airport.

As is typical at any Trump rally, the president delighted in relitigating the 2016 election-and, also typically, got key facts wrong.

But for nearly all of his 75-minute performance in front of a raucous crowd packed into a hangar, it was in-his-element Trump, vintage 2016: rambling and fiery, boastful and jocular - the part of being president that he loves perhaps the most.

"Other voters are drawn to Saccone purely because he's allied with Trump".

While the rally was not specifically advertised as one for Saccone, a loss by him would mark the third time that Trump had thrown his political might behind a candidate without success. "That means if we catch a drug dealer, death penalty, '" Trump said.

And while other national Republicans want to blame Saccone for most of the mess, they concede that the ideal storm has hit - and may blow over other candidates even in seemingly safe seats if they're not prepared next fall.

Fearing another special election embarrassment, the White House was sending Trump to rally the party's core backers. "Don't forget, this got us elected", Trump said of his casual, seat-of-the-pants speaking style.

The president also said that he personally asked the president of Singapore if the country has a drug problem.

"I'd like to meet him", Debich says.

Josh Jaros and his partner, Kim Zouko, both 36, invited Lamb into their living room, where he played with their 3-year-old daughter for a few minutes before asking them who they were voting for.

Saccone's small-town style of campaigning has put him almost on the sidelines of the campaign.

Lamb pitches himself as independent-minded, and his varying views have earned him support in the Pittsburgh region. As I said before, if President Trump's in your corner, how can you lose?

A day after getting news that the U.S. economy produced 313,000 jobs last month, he said his policies are paying off. "I don't think so".
