Far Cry 5's Map Editor Sounds Totally Wild

Far Cry 5's Map Editor Sounds Totally Wild

During our preview test drive we saw a few different maps - one for a 6v6 Team Deathmatch mode set on a beach covered with buildings and debris imported from past Far Cry locales.

Elsewhere, the publishing behemoth revealed that it will be hosting various live events for the game, which will reward participants with customisation items, such as unique weapon and vehicle skins. "In Far Cry 4 we pushed it a bit further to make it easier for players to find those maps but with Far Cry arcade we're going all the way". That includes content borrowed from Far Cry 5's campaign, as well as other Ubisoft games: Far Cry 4, Far Cry Primal, Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag, Assassin's Creed Unity and Watch Dogs. This editor promises to be bigger, more versatile, and more packed with content than it's been at any point in the series' past, and will let players create their own solo, co-op, and PvP levels.

All of those three expansions are included in Far Cry 5's Season Pass, which can be purchased with the main game or separately.

In addition to all of the above, Far Cry 3: Classic Edition is also being thrown into the package. So we have a shared progression system to do that. By the time players have had a chance to mess around with the map editor there'll hopefully be even more bonkers stuff. While this wasn't required, stealth seemed like the better approach for this area.

Dubbed Far Cry Arcade, the mode will be filled with missions created by the community, as well as some created by Ubisoft.

Ubisoft will release its own official maps for what's called the Far Cry Arcade-the in-game area dedicated to the editor and playing custom maps-alongside the game's DLC, so there should be plenty to choose from. It sounds as though Ubisoft has grand plans for Far Cry Arcade, promising to support it post-release with creation contests, new content, and more.
