Imran Khan marries his spiritual guide Bushra Maneka

Pakistani cricket legend-turned-politician Imran Khan has married a faith healer, ending rumors that he was considering a third marriage after divorcing two wives.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan marries Bushra Maneka at her brother's residence in Lahore.

The party released pictures of a smiling Khan, showing him sitting with his new wife.

The marriage to Bushra happens to be the third marriage for 65-year-old Imran and as soon as it became official, Twitter had a field day as they did not spare Pakistan's World Cup-winning skipper.

Khan has been married twice before, once to socialite Jemima Goldsmith and then TV presenter Reham Khan.

Maneka, who is in her 40s, is from the Wattoo clan.

Khan has in the past sought her out for spiritual healing.

Since January, reports of his marriage was in the news.

In an interview with leading British daily The Times, Reham alleged that the relationship between the newlyweds had begun before her 10-month marriage ended in divorce in 2015. He (Khan) got closer to her when some of the political predictions she made about his party came true. A photo of the couple showed Mr Khan wearing a dark blazer over a traditional white shalwar kameez, while Ms Maneka is clad head-to-feet in a grey robe with a red veil covering her face.

He said that he had only sent a wedding proposal to her and was awaiting her response.

Questioned about reports of the marriage having taken place on January 1, Farah said she could not understand how this could be possible when Bushra Bibi's iddat ended on February 14.

Earlier this year, media was abuzz with reports of the PTI chief tying the knot for a third time with the lady he used to visit for spiritual guidance.

"Now he is trying to use the Paliament against the Supreme Court and playing one governing body to destroy another", Imran said, adding that the top court granted the former prime minister ample amount of time to defend himself against the corruption charges.
